It was ok。 It had some pacing issues， characters were interesting enough to make me keep reading。 Not very memorable as I already forgot some details of the book right after finishing it。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it， click here。 The High Mountain Court throws us into a tale of Remy a red witch， the rarest of witches after the villain of this story massacred them in a brutal take over of the High Mountain Court。 A Fae Prince has come across Remy and wants to use her and her magic to secure some magical items to help fight back。 I loved how quickly this story developed， it was fast paced and which helped to keep me interested， I struggle with books that take a while to get on with the actual story。 I fell in love with the The High Mountain Court throws us into a tale of Remy a red witch， the rarest of witches after the villain of this story massacred them in a brutal take over of the High Mountain Court。 A Fae Prince has come across Remy and wants to use her and her magic to secure some magical items to help fight back。 I loved how quickly this story developed， it was fast paced and which helped to keep me interested， I struggle with books that take a while to get on with the actual story。 I fell in love with the characters of Remy， Prince Hale and their friends， and reminded me of ACOTAR’d night Court and TOG Aelins new court I liked their dynamic， that they were friends foremost。 The story was a little predictable but that did not put me off， just made me excited to get to the reveal！ The ending is what I struggled with the most， the ending was a bit rushed， I kind of wanted this to either be a longer book or for the story to continue in a second novel。 It was a little anti-climatic。 The reveal of a character that was believed to be dead for the majority of the book to then die within the spaces of a few pages so that Remy could take their place， just seemed a waste of a character。 They brought nothing to the story， and the actions attributed to this character could have easily been explained by other more fleshed out characters in the book such as the High Priestess。 Overall this is an enjoyable read， it does not necessarily stand out from the crowd of books based around the Fae and magic， but one I will certainly be picking up again。 。。。more

This has quickly become one of my favorite books。 I cannot wait for the second book to come out in November！ If you love fantasy stories with a little spice， action and twists you will love this story。 I also love the representation of POC and LGBTQIA+。 Fantastic！！

Definitely enjoyed this one。 There was some predictability in the plot， and a few places where the journey pacing felt a little drug out， but I still found myself sucked into the adventure， excitement， and obviously the romance。 Features violent and mature sexual scenes not appropriate for teens or a “YA” audience。 Definitely would categorize this as “adult” fantasy。

You can feel the love of fantasy as you read this book。 It has tropes woven throughout but deals with them in a new way that makes you want to read more。 Remy is a red witch， in a world where being a red witch is dangerous。 When she is thrown into an adventure she never anticipated， Remy wonders if she could change the world for the better！

I loved this book， but I should worn you that it’s fast paced and every character makes you NEED to read the next - so make sure you’re comfortable when you open the pages， you won’t want to put it down。 The world building is beautiful， you can’t help but fall in love with the characters and the plot has many twists and turns。

While I enjoyed the plot of this book and the world building， I was disappointed about how quickly the author move through this book。 I felt like I really never formed a connection with any of the characters because of how fast it moved。 And in some ways it was hard to keep up with what was going on because time/scenes moved so quickly。 I wish the author would’ve spent more time going into more detail and slowed down。 I felt like the book was rushed。

Wow！ This book！ Highly recommend to fantasy lovers。 The magic system and world are not highly complex so it is easy to follow along。 Remi’s story is so interesting！ I gasped out loud multiple times， especially at the end， and I cried， and that’s a 5 star for me。 I hear people like to go in blind when picking up a book so I won’t recap， but know that if you like fantasy， a little romance， a little spice， this book is for you！
